more info found. there is a member called 'ultrapulse' who apparently did alot of custom stuff who i can ask for some advice from.

this is copied from various posts from the vh45de forum

one of the main problems is the sump, I believe you need to redo the sump to be a rear bowl sump.

unless you go dry sump the oil pan is going to be a pain. You'll have to go with a rear sump pan as, even if you modify the cross member, the sway bar gets in the way which will be much more difficult to modify. Oil pan would be a lot easier.

Yeah, I saw his posts about the sump.  Was going to make one out of ally or hack up a standard one and weld it till it fits  Razz

I was going to do mine in two stages.  Get the engine in and running, get the engine, brakes, roll cage etc mod plated and all approved.  Then worry about the turbo's  Twisted Evil

It will be a PITA to get the turbo motor approved with all the emmissions testing requried.  I won't be using my Z for just driving to work much, so I'm going to take a punt that most cops will see the mod plate covered in letters and assume that it's all good.  Putting an obsucre engine like the VH into the Z then turboing it, no one will know if it's suposed to be like that or not.  This is the main reason that I would prefer a low mount set up.

I haven't ruled out a big single, but that will be a last resort, or I happen to come into possesion of a suitably sized snail.

Erik,

There isn't a whole lot that is needed for a turbo setup.  I bought a romulator off ZRated, so we should be able to tune our own ECU's.  I'll also get a wideband and a EGT gauge.  We will probably need to get new injectors sooner or later.  That MR2 power steering pump has me thinking (along with the guy who had to lower his swaybar, I definately DO NOT want to do this).

Reckon you could look into:

*MR2 PS pump.  From what I can remember about them they are pretty rare as it was an option on the late model SW20's and wasn't available on the early cars.
*Injectors.  I believe that the Z32 Nismo 555's will fit straight up, but I'm not 100% sure
*See if you can find some piccies of that 450ZXTT getting around in the states, I believe he is on Nico and HybridZ, but have never seen any good pics.
*Any details on other peoples TT VH engines.
