Hello fellas,
now i have just ripped this intro from chris (chrispy) just like im going to do with his v8 engine conversion
I'm Erik, own a 1989 J-Spec 300ZX TT 4 speed and found out about this place from the Z forums. the previous owners of my now car obviously didnt look after her, as her engine compression between 5 of the 6 cylinders range between 100 and 150, with the last cylinder coming in at 56 so after tossing up between rebuilding the vg to have no less than 350rwkw (which can be achieved but with a little bit of lag) and swaping the VG30 for a VH45 Nissan V8. i dont want the lag, thats just me, so im opting for the v8 conversion so i have all the low down power to get me to the rpm the turbos kick in at
I'm not a mechanical engineer like chrispy, but a mechanical draftsman, specializing in switchgear, so i guess you could say, im the fella that the mechanical engineer passes his crap onto when things go bad lol
im no expert with engine etc so im still trying to teach myself a thing or two. so if i say something wrong, please dont hesitate to correct me.....nicely
thanks, erik
