There is a full right up somewhere, there is a whole forum dedicated to putting RB engines into Z's. _________________ Having dillusional dreams of V8 Z happiness... |

I can't see any good reason for me not to do the V8
I got the money, I got the time, I haven't got a girl, so it's all looking good _________________ Having dillusional dreams of V8 Z happiness... |

yeah i reckon you should go for it.
Its a good idea to punt your missus before a conversion begins, thats for sure
Start a thread so you can work out what you need for the swap. Im really interested in this one.
I guess the main things are Engine management, Gearbox. and mounting points.
Theyr'e are the main things hey? _________________

Yeah i'll start one up when I get back from China.
I think for the ECU I will use the standard VH ECU for the engine and keept the Z32 one to run the aircon and whatnot. I wouldn't mind going straight to a aftermarket system, but I'm not sure how that will go with getting it all engineered. This car is going to be 100% road legal with all certificates and legislation to be kept in the car to shove it up the cops who think they know better.
I have a top secret plan for the gearbox adaptor, but it will be cheap and easy with practically no effort on my half
The mounts won't be too bad, as my new bestest mate Niall can make them Should be able to use the standard g'box mounts so the drive shaft and shifter all work easy. I have some rough plans for the engine mounts from a guy in the states. _________________ Having dillusional dreams of V8 Z happiness... |

Not really...
You need to cut 3" out of the transmission tunnel to fit that gigantic six speed in there, I wouldn't be able to turbo it legally (HAS to be legal) and the VH has taken well over 650rwhp on stock internals _________________ Having dillusional dreams of V8 Z happiness... |
