Here's another problem i had when i first installed my rb20, since the motor had been sittin gup for a long time and had been cranked over with no oil in the sump, the pump had run completely dry. The oil pump on the rb20 is the crescent type on th fron of the crank, it is alot of work to remove the pump to prime it . So after talking to a few guys on the skyline forums i came up with this idea that worked well
1. Remove oil filter
2. Fiull sump with oil to max level
3. Jack the rear of the vehicle as high as you can. to angle the front down
4. crank over untill oil comes out of the oil filter housing.
the oil should run out of a hole in the block where the filter bolts on, not the actual threaded pipe.
If theis doesnt work, the next steps
5. Get a small plastic or steel pipe about 8mm insert into the hole in the block and funnell some oil in . this will let oil run back through the pump
6. Let the moil run through for about 5 mins
7. Remove pipe and crank over. as soon as oil is coming back out the hole, refit the oil filter.
